Gattefossé accelerates production ramp-up at its Lufkin facility with eight validated ingredients

Three pharmaceutical excipients and five cosmetic ingredients have now achieved manufacturing equivalency, marking a major milestone in the company's strategy to expand regional manufacturing while ensuring consistent quality and reliable supply worldwide.

A new manufacturing milestone for the Lufkin facility

The validation of three pharmaceutical excipients and five cosmetic ingredients reflects the rapid ramp-up of Gattefossé's Texas manufacturing facility since its inauguration and reinforces the company's manufacturing footprint in North America. Building on the EXCiPACT® certification (GMP) for pharmaceutical products and EFfCI certification for personal care products, the Lufkin site now manufactures these ingredients according to the same quality, analytical and regulatory standards applied across Gattefossé's global production network. Each validation is supported by a complete technical equivalence file, including analytical validation, stability data, and regulatory documentation to ensure seamless integration into customers’ development and commercialization programs.

Three pharmaceutical excipients now manufactured in Texas

The pharmaceutical portfolio validated at Lufkin includes three flagship lipid excipients that support a wide range of drug delivery technologies.

• Peceol™ is a lipid vehicle used as a solubilizer for lipophilic active pharmaceutical ingredients in oral and topical formulations.
• Compritol® 888 is a lipid excipient widely recognized for modified-release drug delivery and lipid matrix technologies.
• Geleol™ Mono and Diglycerides NF is a multifunctional lipid excipient used as a lipidic vehicle and modified-release agent in oral, topical and semi-solid dosage forms.

Five cosmetic ingredients reinforce regional supply

Lufkin has also validated five strategic ingredients from Gattefossé's personal care portfolio.
Emulium® Mellifera MB is a natural oil-in-water emulsifier that adapts to different skin types and environmental conditions while delivering outstanding sensory properties.
Compritol® 888 CG MB is a multifunctional texturizing agent used as a consistency enhancer, oil-phase thickener and stabilizer in skincare, make-up and sun care formulations.
Emulium® Delta MB is an oil-in-water emulsifier offering high formulation flexibility together with a soft, velvety feel.
Plurol® Diisostearique CG is a water-in-oil emulsifier particularly suited to make-up and sun care formulations thanks to its minimalist composition and formulation versatility.
LAS MB is a versatile, non-ionic surfactant suitable for skin and hair care formulations, including creams, lotions, wipes and microemulsion systems.
